From Erasmus+ beneficiary to expert: Meet three experts and explore our new EXPERT POOL

Our renewed Expert Pool offers greater visibility and networking opportunities for experts working in E+ and related fields. In the first article of our new series, we introduce three experts connected to the Digitalisation LTA 2021-2024 who demonstrate how Erasmus+ beneficiaries and TCA Participants can become recognised contributors to the European community.

The SALTO E&T TCA Resource Centre has recently renewed its Expert Pool on the SALTO Platform. One of the most important changes is that the pool is now publicly visible on the front-end of the platform, allowing experts to become more accessible not only to National Agencies, but also to the wider Erasmus+ community.

The renewed Expert Pool aims to strengthen cooperation between National Agencies, SALTOs, experts and beneficiaries by creating a shared European space where expertise connected to Erasmus+, project development, facilitation, digitalisation, inclusion, participation, sustainability and other topics can become more visible and easier to access.

As part of this renewed approach, we are launching a new promotional series highlighting experts who are already active in the pool — and whose professional journeys may inspire others to join.

This first article introduces three experts connected to the Digitalisation Long-Term Activity (2021–2024), all of whom originally started their journey as Erasmus+ beneficiaries and TCA Participants. Through repeated participation in TCAs, webinars, research activities and collaborative work, they gradually became recognised contributors and speakers within the European Erasmus+ community.

Their stories demonstrate something very important:

  • a beneficiary can become an expert;
  • TCAs are not only learning opportunities — they can also become stepping stones towards professional visibility, international cooperation and long-term contribution to the Erasmus+ ecosystem.

Viviana Bieliková

Viviana Bieliková joined the Expert Pool in spring 2024 after becoming a returning expert within the Digitalisation LTA. Originally recommended by the Slovak National Agency, she collaborated with the SALTO E&T TCA RC and several other National Agencies on multiple occasions. Her expertise in digital pedagogy, Erasmus+ project implementation and international cooperation has made her a highly valued contributor to TCA events and other Erasmus+ activities.

Lidija Kralj

Lidija Kralj became part of the Expert Pool following a recommendation from expert Arjana Blažić. Within the Digitalisation LTA, she contributed with outstanding professionalism and expertise, particularly in areas connected to digital transformation, AI and innovative educational approaches. Her experience makes her an especially valuable contributor to Erasmus+ and TCA-related activities.

Éva Tóth

Éva Tóth joined the Expert Pool in spring 2024 and has long collaborated with the Hungarian National Agency as an expert and active eTwinning ambassador. She was also an expert and speaker at the final conference and webinar series of the Digitalisation LTA and currently continues her work within the ongoing LTA Digital Pedagogy in the Age of AI.

Most recently, Éva participated in the TCA Study Visit: Digital Pedagogy and AI – Best Practices from Estonia and Finland, organised by the Estonian National Agency. Her reflections strongly highlighted one of the key messages emerging from the current European discussion on AI in education: “The integration of AI is fundamentally a pedagogical issue, not a technological one.” She has also translated a tool that was presented during the study visit to Helsinki.

Her participation demonstrates well how former TCA participants can later contribute back to the community not only as beneficiaries, but also as experts, facilitators, speakers and mentors.

The SALTO E&T TCA RC would also like to encourage Priority SALTOs, National Agencies and TCA Officers to actively use and promote the renewed Expert Pool. The platform can support the identification of experts for:

  • TCA facilitation and moderation;
  • research and thematic contributions;
  • webinars and training courses;
  • strategic planning and policy-related activities;
  • cross-sectoral cooperation and peer learning.

At the same time, we warmly encourage former TCA participants and experienced beneficiaries to consider joining the pool themselves. Many professionals already hold valuable expertise connected to Erasmus+, digitalisation, AI, inclusion, participation, sustainability, eTwinning cooperation or project development — knowledge that could greatly support other organisations and newcomers across Europe.

The Expert Pool is intended to become a living European professional community built on shared experience, cooperation and mutual learning.
