Éva TóthÉva Tóth has been added to the Expert pool in the spring of 2024. She has been an expert of the Digitalisation Long-term Activity the final event of which took place in The Hague, in March 2024. Éva has been collaborating with the Hungarian National Agency as an expert for a long time and is a very active eTwinning ambassador, too. She has been part of Hungary’s NVET team for a few months now. Her expertise and experience are of great value - it is very much worth considering her as a contributor at TCA events and other E+ related activities.

You can also watch the webinar on our YouTube channel that Éva held in May 2024 about project-based learning in the framework of Digitalisation LTA 2021-2024.

Please, talk about your professional background. What topics are you an expert in? What do you think you can offer to the Erasmus+ community?

As an instructor in vocational education with expertise in cross-curricular and eTwinning projects, digital pedagogy, and project work, I specialise in several key areas. I focus on digital pedagogy, implementing and integrating digital tools in educational practices to enhance teaching and learning experiences in a meaningful way. My work in cross-curricular projects involves designing and executing initiatives that bridge multiple subjects, providing a holistic learning experience. Being an eTwinning ambassador, through eTwinning projects, I facilitate international collaboration among schools in Europe, fostering cultural exchange and collaborative learning. I am dedicated to 21st-century skills development, preparing students with essential skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and digital literacy. Additionally, I emphasise soft skills development, highlighting the importance of interpersonal skills, problem-solving, adaptability, and emotional intelligence in the workplace.

My involvement in international initiatives like eTwinning and EU Code Week encourages global educational cooperation and innovation. I conduct workshops and webinars both on national and international levels, on the use of digital tools, project-based learning, and international collaboration. In the realm of vocational education and training (VET), I focus on practical and career-oriented education that equips students with job-specific skills.

What is your professional connection to the Erasmus+ Programme?

On a local level (in my school), I have been the organiser of project activities involving digital pedagogy when hosting students from different countries. These project activities focused not only on PBL but also on such key topics as sustainability in education and integrating cultural heritage in the learning landscapes

For a few months now, I have been an active member of Hungary’s NVET team, focusing on implementing digital pedagogy in a meaningful way in project activities related to vocational education.

What roles have you had in connection with Training and Cooperation Activities? (facilitator, expert, trainer, etc.) What National Agencies have you worked with?

I had the honour to fulfill two obligations at the TCA ''Digital EDvolution'' happening in The Hague in March 2024: on one hand, I held a presentation (Guide to Meaningful PBL Initiatives and Redefining Learning Landscapes) about PBL, my very own project examples, good practices to inspire participants, on the other hand, at the same TCA, I took part in a roundtable discussion as an eTwinning expert about making Erasmus + greener.

The event was followed by a webinar in May 2024, with the title PBL Upgraded, where we had a look at some of the most helpful tools both students and teachers can use during project work and thematic weeks, with an insight into the evaluation process. What tools are indispensable from our digital tool case? How can AI support the teaching and learning process? These were in our focus.

I am in constant contact with the Hungarian National Agency and have had the opportunity to work together with the Dutch National Agency, too.

What topics have you represented as a speaker at TCA events?

Personal event:

  • Guide to Meaningful PBL Initiatives and Redefining Learning Landscapes
  • The future of international learning journeys, roundtable discussion

Webinar:

  • PBL Upgraded

What E&T sector(s) could benefit from your expertise? School education, vocational education, higher education, adult education? Maybe youth as well? Do you have cross-sectoral experience?

My expertise spans multiple sectors, allowing me to contribute to various educational contexts. In vocational education, particularly in Vocational Education and Training, my focus on digital pedagogy and project work prepares students with practical skills and 21st-century competencies essential for the workforce. In higher education, incorporating digital tools and cross-curricular projects enriches curricula in universities and colleges, promoting research, critical thinking, and collaboration among students. I am also an ambassador for the ITE (Initial Teacher Education) programme at eTwinning, and also hold frequent courses at Hungarian universities, making me eager to share and spread the world about PBL to future teachers.

In the realm of adult education, lifelong learning programmes benefit significantly from digital literacy and soft skills training – as an instructor, I also have experience working with adults in the form of ICT project work and ESP (English for Special Purposes) courses. For youth education and career guidance, engaging young people in digital projects and international collaborations through initiatives like eTwinning, Digital Thematic Week and CodeWeek helps them develop valuable skills and a global perspective.

I have extensive cross-sectoral experience that enhances my ability to adapt and apply my expertise across different educational contexts. This includes designing and managing collaborative projects that bring together students and educators from various educational levels and stakeholders of education, conducting workshops and training sessions for educators across school, vocational, higher, and adult education, and participating in initiatives like eTwinning, Digital Thematic Week and CodeWeek that span multiple educational sectors, promoting cross-sectoral collaboration.

Do you have a memorable experience to share from a TCA?

Following my presentation entitled Guide to Meaningful PBL Initiatives and Redefining Learning Landscapes in The Hague, I have been contacted by several colleagues and got invited to events to share and spread the word about PBL on an international level, for example to Vienna.

Why do you like working with TCA participants, E+ beneficiaries?

Fostering international collaboration through cultural exchange allows me to interact with participants from diverse backgrounds, enriching my perspective and understanding of different cultures and educational systems, benefiting both personal growth and professional development. Building a global network of international contacts and collaborators opens numerous opportunities for future projects and partnerships, enhancing the scope and impact of educational initiatives. Promoting innovative practices is another key benefit. Collaborating with like-minded educators and institutions encourages the adoption of new technologies, keeping my practices cutting-edge.
