From first steps to lasting change: What participants say about how TCAs shape Erasmus+ participation and quality
For the first time, SALTO E&T TCA RC joined the annual HU01 Erasmus+ conference with a dedicated stand aimed at engaging participants in real conversations about the role of TCAs. Through short interviews with both newcomers and experienced beneficiaries, we gained valuable insights into how TCAs act as strategic turning points in the programme.
This year, for the first time, our SALTO hosted a stand at the annual Erasmus+ conference organised by the Hungarian NA, with the goal of engaging directly with programme participants and newcomers. We spoke with a wide range of individuals—some just discovering Erasmus+, others seasoned project coordinators—about how their TCA experience shaped their path. Interviews highlighted that
TCAs often serve as pivotal moments, either drawing participants into the programme or bringing significant added value to running projects.
One respondent from the AE sector shared, "It was the TCA that finally gave us the confidence and tools to submit a successful project proposal." A teacher said. "It was one of the most inspiring professional experiences of my life. TCAs should be part of every teacher's development journey—not just for the knowledge, but for the confidence and connections they bring." Others described TCAs as inspiring turning points that led to quality partnerships and new strategic directions. "After the TCA I attended, I started to see myself as a true professional," said one youth worker.
The opportunity to exchange with peers and discover practical methods was repeatedly cited as a key outcome. For many, the TCA experience translated directly into stronger, more impactful Erasmus+ initiatives.
These conversations clearly reinforce that TCAs are more than learning events—they are strategic levers for programme quality. A more detailed summary of these interviews will be published soon.
