TCA Description
TCA OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS FROM UKRAINE, REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA AND BALKAN COUNTRIES (KOSOVO, MONTENEGRO, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, ALBANIA)
At a time of major ecological disruptions and its impact on territories, architecture has a key role to play.
The digital revolution, accelerated by the massive rise of artificial intelligence, along with major societal upheavals—such as widespread urbanization, increasing population displacement due to natural disasters and conflicts, and the scarcity of natural resources—demand that we rethink our ways of teaching and passing on knowledge.
Teaching building rehabilitation and territories transformations, in addition to new construction, represents the new framework for architectural creation. Common materials such as concrete and steel are now used alongside with bio-based and geo-sourced materials.
These issues of climate change, digital and societal transitions, and changing territories are shaking up architecture schools and programs at universities across Europe. For architecture students, this means evolving through outdoor learning, hands-on experimentation, and knowledge of techniques and material characteristics in order to become more grounded in reality. These challenges compel training institutions to pioneer new approaches in architecture, technology, and interdisciplinary practices.
These topics and how to approach them will be at the heart of the 3 days of this Architecture Erasmus+ seminar. Through the insight of teachers and professionals, we will outline avenues for collaboration with a view to providing excellent education that is accessible to all. We will explore how to make the most of Erasmus+ to train tomorrow’s European architect by designing partnerships and innovation.
TCA OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS FROM UKRAINE, REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA AND BALKAN COUNTRIES (KOSOVO, MONTENEGRO, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA, ALBANIA)
The expected outcome of this TCA is to develop links between European participants, create new interinstitutional agreements, use all the opportunities offered by Key Action 1 (KA1), especially Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) for workshops, and learn how to develop and/or participate in cooperation partnership projects, such as Key Action 220 (KA220).
The aim of this TCA is to stimulate partnerships in architectural cultures and teaching methods between northern and southern Europe, East and West.
French teaching system in Architecture Schools may be different from the one in other European countries where Architecture is mainly taught as a field in universities or polytechnical higher education institutions, or even in engineering schools. The mix of teaching systems and interdisciplinarity will be of major interest and added value in this TCA.
