This event aims to empower EuroApprentices by deepening their understanding of democratic processes within the European Union. Through visits to key EU institutions and interactive workshops, participants will explore the significance of active citizenship and the impact of disinformation on democratic societies.
Enhanced knowledge of EU democratic structures and processes.
Improved media literacy and critical thinking skills to identify and combat fake news.
Strengthened role as ambassadors promoting democratic participation among peers.
The event will begin on Sunday afternoon, 26 October, with a welcome session, networking activities, and a joint dinner to kick off the programme.
On Monday, 27 October, participants will travel to Brussels to visit the European Parliament and take part in the interactive exhibition In Pursuit of Democracy at the House of European History. The evening will include free time and a group dinner in Brussels.
On Tuesday morning, 28 October, a workshop on fake news and political opinion formation will explore how disinformation impacts democratic societies and how young people can build resilience through media literacy. The programme will conclude with lunch and departures in the early afternoon.
The Austrian National Agency will cover two nights of accommodation for all participants, as well as all programme-related costs, including excursions, meals, and the social programme.
Partners and participants
This activity is exclusively open to EuroApprentices – former Erasmus+ VET learners who act as ambassadors and role models for mobility and active citizenship in vocational education and training.
