Nordic TCA on Responsible Internationalization
Summary of TCA outcomes
The TCA's aim was to provide a practice-oriented programme that stimulates reflection and equips participants with practical ideas and tools for their daily work in international affairs as mobility coordinators or managers in higher education institutions.
The event focused on three key themes: Mobility practices and responsible implementation, due diligence in international partnerships and security and ethical considerations in international cooperation. We wanted to provide the participants with following features:
- Get a clearer vision of responsible internationalization
- Gain new knowledge to support the development of your institution’s strategies and methods
- Share and learn best practices from peers
- Network with higher education specialists across the Nordic region
Regarding the survey results from participants and the general feedback from the organising team we can contest that the outcomes were met with great success.

The programme consisted of keynotes and presentations in addition to time for workshopping and networking. All materials and the outcomes of the workshops are available for participants. The topic of responsible internationalisation is relatively new in the sphere of higher education (not research but educational acitivities) and international higher education cooperation. During this TCA we catered new knowledge and information for participants such as, how to take responsible internationalisation into consideration when managing Erasmus+ student and staff mobility, partnership building and inter institutional agreements without forgetting the ethical perspectives of this area.
