Green Erasmus: pathways to sustainable projects and institutions
Summary of TCA outcomes
The "Green Erasmus: Pathways to Sustainable
Projects and Institutions" Training and Cooperation Activity (TCA) in
Munich provided a platform for education experts and Erasmus+ project
representatives as well as newcomers to explore topics related to sustainability
and green skills. The program included a Sustainability Slam, where experts
presented on e.g. sustainable finance and the development of electric aircraft,
sparking participants' interest. The Open Space method facilitated discussions
on project ideas, partner selection, and sustainable themes, leading to the
formation of potential KA2 projects. The TCA included visits to the botanical
garden of Munich, a field trip to an organic craft beer brewery (also a
sustainable Erasmus+ project) and further networking opportunities, leaving
participants with valuable insights and an expanded European network with many
new potential project partners.
The event started with
lunch on the first day and ended with lunch on the third day (duration of 2
full days/2 nights). We had 59 participants from 13 countries.
The event was moderated
by Julia Lubjuhn (NA DE02, Team Leader VET KA2).
The open space
discussions led to the development of many KA2 project ideas which were
presented in a gallery walk at the end of the open space sessions. A follow up
survey to inquire about the further development of these project ideas will be
sent to the participants at the end of the year.
In the feedback survey,41
participants indicated that they were very satisfied with the event overall (11
participants somewhat satisfied, 1 participant somewhat dissatisfied, 6
participants did not answer the question). Answers were similar related to the
satisfaction expressed towards the organization/facilities and service provided
by the organising NA. Asked for which aspect of the TCA was particularly useful
for sustainability, many participants named the presentation by “Think Twice”
(E+ project on sustainable project management) and the topic of green
competences/skills.
Some suggestions for
improvement were: Organize TCA in one venue for event and accommodation (this
would be the NA’s preferred option too, but was not possible for this event);
explain abbreviations for newcomers; communicate in advance if a laptop needs
to be brought; include a short didactic explanation of the event app in the
agenda; longer (3 nights) event duration.

Sustainability is the priority on which NA DE02 puts a special focus.
Since we coordinate the LTA Sustainability, we want to contribute to the topic
with contact seminars for both sectors that we are responsible for (VET and AE)
to support beneficiaries in creating networks and developing project ideas.
