The Power of Non-Formal Education for Adult Learning

This international in-person training course builds on the well-established Power of Non-Formal Education for the adult learning context. During the 4 days, the course will enhance educators’ capacity to use experiential and participatory methods, explore the complementarity of formal and non-formal education, and increase the quality and impact of E+ adult learning projects.
The main aim of the activity is to improve the educational impacts through experiencing a non-formal educational (NFE) process.
More concretely:
- To broaden our perception of NFE and its potential impacts in our different realities in Europe
- To explore the complementarity between formal and non-formal educational sector
- To affirm the political dimension of non-formal education, as a way to take an active role in society (empowerment process)
- To reconsider our daily educational work practices, identify our challenges in order to improve the coherence between values we promote and our daily actions
Increased understanding among adult educators of the principles and impact of non-formal education (NFE) in adult learning contexts.

June 10th-13th - Full activities day
The RO NA will organise the accommodation and cover the costs for accommodation and food, during the activity. The accommodation will be in single rooms.
Partners and participants
- Adult educators, trainers and facilitators from organisations active in adult learning, community education, and lifelong learning
- Project coordinators and practitioners implementing E+ Adult Education projects (KA1, KA2)
- Representatives of local learning centres, NGOs and associations working with adults through non-formal methods
- E+ newcomers interested in integrating non-formal education (NFE) in their future activities
