Erasmus+ Programme: Priorities and Opportunities on Outermost Regions and overseas countries
Main Info
TCA Description
Europe's Outermost Regions (ORs), which include territories such as Madeira Islands, face unique challenges due to their geographical location, isolation and specific socio-economic conditions.
Erasmus+ Programme has played a crucial role in supporting the educational, professional and personal development of the citizens of these regions, promoting inclusion, diversity and equity.
The work proposal also consists of holding a transnational meeting that allows the group of participants to reflect together on environmental sustainability, the restrictions imposed on the outermost regions due to their geographical distance from European decision-making centres, in addition to the role that the education system can play in terms of minimising the impact that these limitations may have on the populations. In line with the four priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme, the focus of this ATT is also on the environment and the fight against climate change, as this is a key priority for the European Union and the outermost regions.
Objectives:
- Strengthen institutional cooperation: Establish new partnerships and strengthen existing ones, promoting transnational cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experience.
- Promoting inclusion and diversity: Discuss and implement strategies to ensure that the Erasmus+ Programme continues to be accessible to all, especially students and professionals from the ORs.
- Supporting sustainable development: Contributing to the sustainable growth of the ORs by promoting education and training as fundamental pillars for economic and social development.
- Update knowledge: Get updated information on the new guidelines and priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme for the period 2021-2027, ensuring that our institution is aligned with European best practices and policies.
- Develop the notion of the so-called Blue Economy, contributing to the sustainable and conscious use of the Sea, minimizing the environmental impact that human action may have in this sector.
- Capacity building and the promotion of inclusive and quality education in the Outermost Regions of Europe.
The conference will provide a platform for discussion and sharing of good practices, strategies and policies that have been successfully implemented in the ORs, as well as for identifying new opportunities for cooperation and development. It will also expected participants to exchange experiences, strengthening collaboration networks and promoting innovation in education and training.
