Staff and student mobility for educational purposes has been part (decentralized) of the Erasmus programme since 2000, while training opportunities began to be funded from 2007. As a consequence of the continued growth of staff and student mobility, the need for strategic approach to the quality of mobility has gained more relevance and ongoing international discussions demonstrate the need for structured and strategic approaches to this topic.
