Erasmus+ Aiming Higher: Mediterranean Bridges Across Africa and Europe for Shared Academic Pathways
Main Info
TCA Description
The Italian Erasmus+ NA, as part of the Mednet Network, organizes the TCA seminar “Erasmus+ Aiming Higher: Mediterranean Bridges Across Africa and Europe for Shared Academic Pathways”. The main goal of this TCA is to enhance the International Dimension in Higher Education through the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme.
The event will gather representatives from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in MedNet countries, South-Mediterranean countries (Region 3) and Sub-Saharan Africa countries (Region 9).
It provides a unique occasion for networking, sharing best practices as well as exchanging new ideas. Participants will explore opportunities to develop new cooperations in areas of mutual interest, focusing on both decentralized initiatives (such as Mobility Projects for Higher Education Students and Staff) and centralized actions (like Capacity building in higher education) under the Erasmus+ framework. Participating HEIs will present their most relevant cooperation activities and transferable results. There will be plenary sessions and spaces for interaction among participants, who will discuss good practice examples, opportunities and benefits, challenges and lessons learned.
Enhance Awareness: Share updates about Erasmus+ opportunities, focusing on decentralized and centralized actions available to Southern Mediterranean and Sub-Saharan African HEIs.
Identify Synergies: Explore potential connections between decentralized and centralized actions, emphasizing cooperation between European and African institutions through the exchange of best practices that improve internationalization.
Develop Proposals: Support the creation of new cooperation proposals within KA171 - International Credit Mobility (ICM) and other relevant Erasmus+ centralized actions for 2021-2027.
Foster Dialogue: Promote an open and constructive exchange of ideas, experiences, and expectations among all stakeholders.
As a result of the conference, reactions and perspectives will be gathered on the EC proposal for the future programme: which activities are most suitable to improve international cooperation among HEIs and how developed results and activities within E+ projects can serve as basis for further improvements by other higher education institutions.
Thus, the conference will help reinforce the academic strategic partnerships between Europe and its partners in Africa.
The event will involve aprox. 140 participants:
40 participants from MedNet countries: 3 participants HEIs per country (4 for the bigger countries, ES-FR-IT-TR)
50 participants from HEIs of Regions 3 and 9
2 National Agency staff per NA from MedNet countries
