TCA Description

Themes and goals:

This contact making seminar aims to bring together secondary school teachers (of pupils aged 12-18 years), from across Europe and Ireland, that are interested in applying for a future KA1 mobility project particularly Long-Term Pupil Mobility. Participants will work together to explore innovative and alternative forms of civic and democratic participation of pupils and be inspired to create new mobility partnerships and networks in which they will play a role as either a sending or receiving institution in future projects.

The event will provide an opportunity to explore “know how” strategies in relation to long term learning mobility projects that encourage civic engagement among pupils, and which promote the recognition of learning and experience acquired during a mobility period. The participants will explore examples of long-term pupil mobility opportunities to learn how exchanges can effectively involve and engage students in the process of bringing civic engagement, democracy and active participation into classrooms.

Expected results:

Learning outcomes:

  • Establish a network of educational actors promoting civic participation and democratic life;
  • Provide participants with communication and dissemination tools for online networking with the eTwinning platform
  • Explore examples of good practices on civic participation (successful long-term pupil mobility projects)
  • Develop project ideas for group mobility of school pupils/short-term learning mobility of pupils (aged 12-18 years) related to civic participation
  • Broaden the network of partner schools for long-term mobility projects in the context of the Erasmus+ programme in the field of school
  • Explore “know how” working strategies to manage long-term mobility of pupils
