Re-thinking anti-racism practice in Adult Education

This two-day
training is designed for adult educators who are interested in anti-racism
practices and innovative approaches in working with groups on topic of racism
and discrimination. Led by two experts in the field of non-formal Adult
Education Zoryana Pshyk, Community Connector at Maynooth University Access
Programme and Lilian Nwanze Akobo, Associate Lecturer, Department of Adult and
Community Education, Maynooth University.
The hands on and
practical sessions will equip participants with the tools to integrate
anti-racism actions into their work through creative methodologies and will
enhance their abilities to design and conceptualize non formal activities that
address issues experienced by marginalised groups.
During this
training participants will work together to re-think anti-racism practices, and
to find new way of engaging with groups to create a space for dialogue about
their experiences and day to day reality, with the hope to develop project
concepts for Erasmus+ international mobility projects.

Expected
Outcomes:

Clear understanding around discrimination and racism and other
issues experiences by the marginalised groups

Generate ideas and creative approaches to working with
groups on topic of racism and discrimination

Networking and ideas for the future Erasmus+ projects
Objectives:

To develop deeper understanding around racism and
discrimination
·
To explore creative ways of engaging in meaningful
conversations around racism and discrimination
·
To explore intersectionality of experiences of vulnerable
groups exposed to discrimination and racism

groups
