AutoSkills Europe for the Automotive services sector: Driving youth mobility with Erasmus+
Main Info
TCA Description
ANFA is a 75-year-old French association dedicated to Vocational Education and Training (VET) in the Automotive Services Sector. ANFA coordinates a network of more than 400 VET schools all around France. The automotive services sector represents training for all vehicle-related activities after production for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles. This sector is growing in Europe as the average age of the vehicle fleet is becoming higher. It is also a sector in transition with the emergence of new tools and electric vehicles.
For more than 30 years, ANFA has been involved in European mobility. Very active in different European networks such as NETINVET and EFVET, ANFA brings strong expertise and supports VET institutions in developing European mobility in the automotive services sector. Each year, more than 900 apprentices from France in the sector take part in a European mobility project, and the organization wishes to increase this number by offering more opportunities to the apprentices.
The event :
After a successful first edition of AutoSkills Europe, ANFA is organizing its second edition from October 7th to October 9th, 2026, in Lyon and its surroundings. This TCA is co-organized by the Erasmus+ French Agency and is managed administratively and logistically by ANFA.
The goal of the event is to gather staff involved in the organization of European mobility projects (mostly KA1 but also KA2) in the automotive services sector to create in-person contact with other countries, leading to new qualitative mobility projects. It will contribute to making long-term partnerships with reciprocal projects while being able to share about the specifities in this sector.
Program :
The event will include a study visits event with visits to French schools and VET centers (day 1), one opening evening (day 2) and a one-day seminar including workshops and a match-making session (day 3).
- The study visits will be dedicated to European participants (day 1 and 2). Participants will have the opportunity to visit two training institutions involved in European mobility and one company (visits to be confirmed later at a later date). These visits will showcase the different training opportunities and infrastructure types in France with guided tours conducted VET professionals. The company will be in direct link within the automotive services sector.
- On day 3, the seminar will be composed of two workshop sessions, on different topics such as certifying mobilities, how to introduce mobility into training programmes, hybrid mobility, automotive trends, and KA2.
- The matchmaking session will allow participants to plan meetings between each other according to the specifities of their trainings (cars/trucks/cycle/motorcycle & level EQF3,4,5).
The expected results are :
- To increase mobility in the automotive services sector.
- To create or reinforce strong relationships between European and French training organizations to implement different mobility projects (individual, group, staff, blended, certifying mobility…)
- To share good practices, find common grounds and improve the setting up of mobilities in the automotive services sector
- To gain a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges specific to the European mobility in the automotive services sector and to favor the emergence of KA2 cooperation projects
- To gain a better understanding of the training paths in France and in Europe.
Ideally, the selected participants will arrive at the seminar with well-developed ideas to implement, actively seeking European partners. Participants ought to be willing to share ideas, tools and good practices examples. Participants will be able to book meetings for the match-making session before the beginning of the seminar and to look at the participants' list in order to see the different trainings represented.
The participants will be the staff involved in the organization of European mobility in training institutions within the automotive service sector and their counterparts.
In France, the industry and construction side is separated from the services sector (after production). It is important to note that this event is aimed at VET institutions in the automotive services sector, related to all post-production activities.
