Stepping up foreign language learning and teaching
Main Info
TCA Description
The training event aims to gather language teachers and school staff to reflect on language teaching and learning and to get new ideas, methodological and practical tools on how to best teach and support learners in a changed classroom, which among other things is multilingual and multicultural and has also moved to the learners' homes via hybrid lessons.
It is also important to take into account the non-traditional learning spaces experienced through learning mobility or international cooperation.
The event will discuss the best ways to support learners in improving their language skills and intercultural competences.
In the first day, we will look into how we can make use of content and language integrated learning (CLIL) through mobility. We will also explore what is the future of language education in the light of Covid - what are the lessons learned and ways forward? We will also get a closer look at the Companion Volume to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, including how we experience mediation through learning mobility and how we assess plurilingualism. There will also be a networking session for all the participants to find new ideas and contacts for future Erasmus+ projects.
In the second day, we will focus on good practises. In workshops, participants can learn from the best practices of their European colleagues. There will be examples of active learning, language immersion, practical resources to improve plurilingual and intercultural learning through mobility, and other new methods and digital tools for language teaching and learning.
The event is held to celebrate 25 years of European Language Label in Estonia.
The event content is preliminary, the organizers reserve the right to make changes to it.
