Improving Pupil Mobility
Main Info
TCA Description
This seminar aims to improve the quality of pupil mobility in primary and secondary school. Many practitioners share a strong conviction (often supported by experience) that valuable learning takes place when we travel with our pupils. However, there is still a need to clarify what we actually know about travelling with pupils, and how such mobility can be organised in the most effective and supportive way.
Therefore, the seminar will explore how schools and teachers can continue to strengthen their approach to travelling with pupils. This includes how pupils can be prepared to ensure optimal learning outcomes and a positive overall experience, as well as how mobility activities can be carried out in a way that provides strong support for pupils while they are abroad.
A particular focus will be placed on pupils who require additional support, and on how to ensure that mobility remains a positive experience for them, for the accompanying teachers, and for the receiving organisations.
Furthermore, the seminar will address how to follow up and debrief pupils after their mobility, ensuring that their learning is processed and grounded in the best possible way. Finally, the seminar will consider how the learning gained from mobility can be implemented and anchored within the school organisation.
The expected results of this seminar are:
Broader knowledge of pupil mobility, specifically:
- Preparation of pupil mobility
- Carrying out of pupil mobility in action
- Following up on pupil mobility
- Mobility for pupils who need extra support
- Exchange of best practice in the area of pupil mobility
- Evidence based knowledge of intercultural meetings and cultural exchange with school pupils
The format of this seminar invites to active participation, so you should be prepared to contribute and participate in discussions in English.
We expect all participants to participate in the full programme. If you exceptionally need to leave before the programme is finished, this should be approved by the Danish NA prior to participation.
The TCA will include two online meetings on the E-twinning-platform: one pre-meeting (April 9th 3-4 PM GMT+1) and one re-cap meeting (May 27th 3-4 PM GMT+1). Participation in these meetings is mandatory and should be regarded as part of the TCA. If you do not have a profile on e-Twinning, you should make one before the pre-meeting.
