TCA Description

Themes and goals:

“Campus International 2025” addressed effects of international student mobility on the development of several critical labour market-related skills and characteristics. With an online questionnaire, student data had been collected analogously insixteen European countries.

The main analysis revealed positive effects on students' development in the following domains:

  • General self-efficacy
  • Multicultural self-efficacy
  • Individual adaptability
  • Some dimensions of career adaptability.

Through Erasmus+ young people gain a clearly perceptible personal development. At the same time, they built highly relevant competences for the labour market to a verifiable extent (e.g. to cope with multicultural teams, diversity and unexpected situations).

Themes and goals

A detailed presentation of results from “Campus International 2025” will highlight key findings, methodology, limitations, and proposed variation for the LTA Campus International. Participants are invited are invited to comment on the results and suggest ways in which they might be used and disseminated. Additional or alternative research questions, as well as approaches drawn from other academic and/or political contexts, can and should be raised during the discussion.

Expected results:

To explore to what extent the results can be generalised on European level, comparable data from different European contexts are an essential endeavour of further research. Measuring the development of labour market-related skills and characteristics, further research should also include larger samples of students, and more students with international work experiences to more specifically explore the benefits of study abroad versus placement abroad. Thus, in 2026 we will re-start the project as LTA, including old and new partners.

Expected results of the LTA Campus International (2026-2028):

  • Scientific research on effects of student mobility / the development of students from different European countries in terms of their skills; comparison of national results (if possible)
  • Connected to the Union of Skills: acquisition of skills / competences and strengthening European values

Expected results of this Kick-off conference:

The discussion will help old and new partners to carefully reflect on their work and national strategy of implementation. The audience’s views and experiences are valuable contributions for the fine-tuning of the upcoming project which has just started.
