Erasmus+ digitisation: why green, inclusive and participatory inputs are needed
Main Info
TCA Description
Digitalisation plays an extremely important role in internationalisation in the higher education sector. In its Digital Education Action Plan, the European Commission has published a strategy paper on how universities can use the potential of digitisation for their internationalisation strategies. At the same time, with digital transformation as a horizontal priority in the Erasmus+ programme, the importance of digitalisation for the European education area was underlined.
With the current Erasmus+ generation 2021-2027, digitalisation is moving into focus:
New blended mobility formats complement the existing exchange opportunities for students and higher education staff, while also serving to strategically align partnerships. Meanwhile, the European Student Card Initiative (ESCI), in particular Erasmus Without Paper (EWP), addresses the digitalisation of administration within and between higher education institutions. There is no doubt that digitalization opens up new opportunities. The biggest challenges are to make these digital opportunities inclusive, greener and in line with participation in democratic life. For successful implementation, digitalisation also needs the important contributions of the other horizontal priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme.
This TCA would like to bring together policy advisors of HE institutions, interested parties and from International Offices (ACA, Digital Education Hub, SALTO Digital, SALTO Green, SALTO participation & Information, SALTO Inclusion & Diversity in Education and Training ) and national agencies (Digital Officers, Digital Contact Points, policy advisors) in order to focus more on this thematic field of tension.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from different perspectives across Europe and get an insight into the development of the digitalisation strategies of European higher education institutions.
The event aims to provide a platform for exchange on the topic and to develop new strategies, networking and partner matching.
Through exchanging good practices and sharing experiences, participants will strengthen the knowledge about key practices & processes in digitalization processes within higher education institutions.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in workshops and panel discussions, gain insights from experts, and network with peers.
