STEM stands for the studies and academic disciplines pertaining to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The aim of the event is to foster and increase Erasmus+ student and staff exchanges in STEM subjects by identifying obstacles, sharing experiences and best practices and developing international partnerships with institutions across Europe.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn from different perspectives across Europe and get an insight into the development of the internationalization strategies of European higher education institutions in the field of STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Participants are encouraged to consider strategies how higher education institutions can create a framework that encourages and supports Erasmus+ mobility in STEM subjects, enriching the educational experience and fostering a global perspective among students, staff and the faculty. Attendees will discuss mobility barriers and deepen the understanding of the needs of students and staff to enable them to work across borders.
The event aims to provide a platform for networking and partner matching, targeting the Higher Education sector with a focus on KA131.
Through exchange of expertise in STEM, exchanging good practices and sharing experiences, participants will strengthen the knowledge about key practices & processes for international exchange and Erasmus+ mobility within higher education institutions.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions, gain insights from experts, and network with peers.
Practical Information:
The event will take place in Vienna, Austria. The Austrian National Agency will cover accommodation for two nights (May 14th-16th), including meals and a cultural programme. Any additional nights will be covered by the participants or their resp. NAs.
Programme Outline:
- Wednesday, May 14th: Start at 12:00 PM (CEST) with an optional networking lunch. Official programme begins at 2:00 PM (CEST).
- Thursday, May 15th: Full-day programme, including workshops, a social event, and dinner.
- Friday, May 16th: Half-day programme, concluding with lunch around 2:00 PM (CEST).
Important:
Full participation in the programme is expected. Please plan your travel arrangements accordingly.
Partners and participants
The event is open to representatives from the Higher Education sector, including both current beneficiaries and newcomers to Erasmus+, with a strong command of English (minimum level B2).
Participants from STEM Higher Education Institutions may include teachers of STEM subject, deans of studies, heads of Departments/Faculties, rectors, vice-Rectors, and other institutional leaders, International Office staff
