Expand your cooperation with the Western Balkans and join NA DAAD´s upcoming Erasmus+ networking event “Western Balkans in the focus: Promoting and deepening cooperations in the Erasmus+ programme” in Montenegro!
The Erasmus+ National Agency for Higher Education at DAAD and the National Erasmus+ Office in Montenegro invite higher education representatives from Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo to take part in this event.
The Erasmus+ TCA “Western Balkan in the Focus” consists of two components:
13 October 2026: Site visit to higher education institutions in Podgorica and Cetinje (for participants from Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland only)
14 and 15 October 2026: Networking seminar (for all participants)
Themes and goals
The aim of the event is to strengthen higher education cooperation between Erasmus+ Programme countries (Germany, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic) and the Western Balkans in Erasmus+.
Erasmus+ includes a strong international dimension in the field of higher education and supports several actions targeting cooperation between Programme countries and other regions in the world. For this TCA, the focus lies on the support of candidate countries’ access to the programme.
During the networking seminar participants will be informed about funding opportunities in Erasmus+ with a focus on Key Action 2 Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education (CBHE) and Erasmus Mundus Master's programmes as well as Key Action 1 Erasmus+ mobility opportunities and the Jean Monnet Actions.
Furthermore, thematic workshops will give participants the opportunity to discuss topics that are relevant for the entire European Higher Education Area (such as skills development, recognition of qualifications, entrepreneurship, joint programmes, impact and synergies of educational cooperations, etc.) and address challenges.
In addition, Bologna experts from the Western Balkan region will contribute to the agenda.
- Developing concrete project ideas for future Erasmus+ applications
- Exchanging best practice examples and developing joint strategies
- Improving the visibility and impact of European educational cooperation in the Western Balkans and addressing challenges
- Addressing mobility challenges: Solutions for issues in student and staff exchanges.
The TCA is intended for Higher Education sector, Key Action KA1, KA2 and Jean Monnet-Actions
The seminar will take place in Podgorica, Montenegro.
DE National Agency will cover travel costs and accommodation for 3 nights from Monday, October 12 to Thursday, October 15, 2026 for programme countries participants.
DE National Agency will cover travel costs and accommodation for 2 nights from Tuesday, October 13 to Thursday, October 15, 2026 for NEO and partner country participants.
Any additional nights need to be covered by the participants.
